Our room was awesome; huge bed, wonderful bathroom, a fireplace! After we struggled with figuring out how to get my dress off, we dug into some leftover barbeque that Spady's thoughtfully packed up for us, and just let it all soak in. We both were just grinning from ear to ear and showing each other our rings (okay, we are still doing that every day!) and just marveling in what a truly awesome day we had just had!
The next morning, we had breakfast served in our room. Wow, what a spread! We decided that since it was such a lovely morning we would take it onto our private deck to feast.
We then took a stroll around the whimsical grounds of the bed and breakfast. It is a great place to just walk around in love. Everywhere we turned there was some funny little statue or wooden sculpture.
It was the perfect place to spend our first night and morning as a married couple, and I would highly recommend it as a romantic getaway to anyone!After a quick stop at the Shaffer's house and the Dewey's house, we were off to the airport, riding in style in a limo!
Our flight was uneventful, though we both got a surprising buzz off the complimentary Mai Tai's they served. I've decided alcohol and Meghan on airplanes do not mix! :) We arrived in Lihue in the dark, which made for a pretty exciting landing when you consider that we couldn't even see the island, so it looked like we were landing in the water. The little girl sitting next to me looked rather concerned for our lives, but we made it safe and sound! (She was quite excited to find out we were on our honeymoon, how cute!)
After spending an interminable amount of time in line for our rental car, we made the silly decision to get the 2 door Pontiac G-6 instead of the 4 door, thinking it would be a smaller car. Nope, 2 doors made it huge apparently! We couldn't figure out how to make things work, accidentally called the On Star system within moments of pulling out of the parking lot, and thought that we were not off to the best start! Yikes! Finally we figured out how to turn off the interior dome lights, and that you can't open the doors when the car is in gear or they call the emergency system on you! Off to get some gear and groceries!
At this point it was about 9pm, midnight by our bodies. We stopped into a very large chain store that both of us are still a little sick to our stomachs that we actually bought something in to get reef shoes and beach mats, then tried to find a grocery store. Hawaiians apparently don't shop after 7pm, as everything was closed! Finally we found a Foodland with its lights still blazing, stocked up on food for the week, and headed up to the condo! Hooray! We stayed on the north shore near Princeville at the Sealodge condos. We arrived quite late, got our gear inside, and basically just crashed out immediately.
At 5am, we both awoke to a golden glow in the room, looked out the window, and saw this:
A lovelier sunrise I have never seen before! We were just blown away by the views from our room, water water everywhere! After gazing at the sunrise for awhile, we geared up for our first day on Kauai!

Eating yummy yummy burritos from Red Hot Mamas! We found these great lava cliffs that we had all to ourselves to enjoy our lunch!
We spent most of the day scoping out beaches. Neither of us thought to bring our swimsuits with us, how silly! But we had a great time checking all of the easily accessed ones out.
We like trees. You'll see a lot of them over the next couple posts!
Last thing we did for the day was hit up a farmer's market for some delicious fresh fruit. Bananas, limes, papaya, mango, and avocados! Wow! Yummy! I made some guacamole immediately. Then we both fell asleep at 7pm! I think we wore ourselves out! That's all for tonight, more tomorrow!
